Career Overview
A Site Supervisor is the hands-on leader on a construction site — directing workers, checking work quality, controlling materials, and making sure the project is built exactly as designed and safely. Site Managers take on more contractual and commercial responsibility for the whole site.
It is one of the most practical routes into construction leadership in Sri Lanka, and skilled site supervisors are in constant demand for local projects and overseas placements in the Middle East.
What Does This Career Do?
Site Supervisors plan the day's work, brief the foremen, check that the drawings are being followed, inspect quality, issue materials, record labour and progress, enforce health & safety, and report to the Project Manager. Site Managers additionally handle subcontractor management, cost tracking and client meetings.
